Equality and Diversity

Huddersfield New College is a sixth-form college committed to enabling individual students to achieve their full potential in a supportive and inclusive environment. We welcome applications for study and employment from all individuals, regardless of any protected characteristic as defined in the Equality Act 2010 and socio-economic background.

The College’s commitment to equality and diversity is set out in our Single Equality Scheme and associated action plan. Our staff, students and governors are all central to achieving our equality and diversity aims and ensuring our college is a pleasant, supportive and safe environment in which to study and work.

The College is also working towards achieving Investors in Diversity status at level two, having already attained the standard at level one. Our dedication to achieving this award is testimony to the importance of embedding equality, diversity and inclusion into all of our practices.

Our equality and diversity aims are also at the heart of the College’s mission which is:

“To provide an excellent educational experience, in an inclusive and supportive environment, which inspires our students to achieve their potential.”
