On Monday 27th June, at Blackley HNC recorded a notable victory over strong Cricket School, Bedford chasing down 253 off 40 overs with contributions of 76 from Yorkshire Academy player Ed Wilson and a fine 53no from Jacob Waterson. They will now face Portsmouth Grammar school or Filton College from Bristol in the final at Cunmore CC Oxfordshire on Wed 14th September.

HNC vs MCC

The now annual game v MCC and the college took place yesterday at Barkisland CC, with the MCC bringing a strong side after New College victories in the last two games. Batting 1st MCC struggled early on against good bowling by Alex Walker and Tom Brook going in to lunch at 74-4. After Lunch MCC got on top of the bowling with Steve Lawrence and Simon Birtwhistle finishing on 68 and 69 repectively.MCC declared on 225-7. Going in to bat Tom Booth hit a quick 40 and there were good contributions from Joe Bowman(34) and Jacob Waterson who finished on 69no. The College batting falling away towards the end missing the in form Tom Boorman and Durham trialist Oliver Ashford who were both injured in Mondays U17 National Cup win over Bedford school.
