Public Transport 2011/12
College Buses
College buses are specially contracted services for the use of College students only, with one service each day to and from the college. Areas covered by these services include Halifax, Hebden Bridge, South Bradford, Brighouse, Holme Valley, Dewsbury, Mirfield, Batley and Spen Valley. The cost of these is £200 for the year (about 54p per journey) or £75.00, £70.00 and £60.00 paid at the start of each of the 3 terms.
Passes bought can only be used for these direct services to the college.
All cheques for these services need to be made payable to ‘Halifax Joint Committee’
Other Public Transport
Various public transport buses operate frequently up and down New Hey Road. Timetables are available from the bus station or at www.wymetro.com

For this public transport, there are various forms of passes, including:
‘School Pass Scheme’ passes
With this scheme, students (who are aged under 19) can buy an annual pass for £215.00 which entitles them to one journey to college by public transport and one journey home. One journey can involve more than one public bus or train within West Yorkshire. Termly payments are also available. The pass includes train journeys, and may be of particular interest for students travelling from Batley, Dewsbury, Mirfield, Shepley, Clayton West, and Denby Dale. Application forms will be available at the transport desk. Cheques to be made payable to ‘Kirklees M C’ and sent together with the application form and a passport sized photograph to:

Other public transport passes
Monthly or weekly passes are available for public buses at a current half fare costs of £31.00 per month (£65.00 including rail) or £8.50 per week (£18 including rail). These can be used at anytime of the week as much as required for under 19 year olds with a scholar’s photocard (½ fare).
Scholar’s photocard (½ fare), college bus, and school pass forms are available at enrolment or from student services.
