International Links

Huddersfield New College has always been at the forefront of foreign trips and visits. Our students have participated in many exchanges with schools and college within Europe and Africa in order to appreciate different cultures and learn different languages. Over the last 7 years, Huddersfield New College has been very successful in gaining Leonardo funding for students to undertake work experience in Sweden, France and Poland.

Last summer, 10 students from Travel & Tourism and Childcare undertook a 3 week work placement in Lyskeil, Sweden. The students worked in hotels, conference centres, restaurants and nurseries and lived independently in flats. The students visited local attractions and participated in cultural activities such as Midsummer with their host families and friends.

A trip to Gothenburg was included and students had the opportunity of visiting famous Swedish landmarks and sampling Swedish cuisine.
