The Performing Arts Department at Huddersfield New College is lively, friendly, and busy. In our well-equipped Boilerhouse Arts Centre we can offer you an exciting range of courses, and you can join our varied and interesting programme of visits, workshops, projects and activities which are open to all students.

Recent work includes projects with Opera North, Wilson Wilson Theatre Co., Theatre-in-Education for local schools, the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, The Lawrence Batley Theatre, Frantic Assembly Theatre Co., as well as adventurous College productions ranging from “Kiss me Kate” to Lorca's “Blood Wedding” , with everything from Ionesco to Ariel Dorfman in between. Come and play with the stunning Phoebus Classical Ensemble, do stand-up for one of the Showcase Evenings, record your rap or your band's demo-disc in our recording studio, get involved with the dance classes, come and design and paint sets for the shows...
