The Womens Football academy follows the same successful format as the Mens football academy. Now in its third year the Womens team continue to go from strength to strength. The women have already won their regional league (04/05 season) and look set to continue their success in 2006.
All coaching at the college is delivered by UEFA "A" or " B" licence coaches and players receive a minimum of 6 hours of coaching per week. Students work daily on their fitness and technique and gain knowledge of other key issues such as diet and nutrition. They will have the opportunity to complete a 1st4sport Certificate in Coaching Football Level 1 (The FA), Emergency Aid, Child Protection modules and Referee's exam.
In the last 2 years the women's academy has continued to strengthen its squad with the acquisition of several players who are involved in representative and professional club football, this has helped to raise the standards in the team and put them at the fore front of competition in the English Academy league.
Successful involvement in the football development programme can provide opportunities to progress into:
- Careers in professional / semi professional football
- Football coaching
- Careers associated with the treatment of injuries and their management
- Football refereeing
- Work in sport and recreation
- Further and Higher Education
- Overseas coaching and possible scholarships

Player Profile
Zoe Barratt
Zoe is currently on a full soccer scholarship in America. Zoe has been a revelation in her first year at Oklahoma City University helping the team to win their conference title. Zoe was a member of the Huddersfield New College Academy between 2003 & 2005.
In her 2nd year Zoe captained the side to an undefeated league title and was nominated for the PFA / Adidas Scholar of the Year. She finished runner up and was awarded a trophy and £250 of Adidas boots and clothing.
