Financial Support
What financial support is available for students?
1. Student Bursary
Student Bursary Payments
First payments have gone out to reach student bank accounts by Thursday 6 October.
The October monthly payment will then be paid week commencing 10 October. Following this the remaining 8 monthly payments will be paid in the first week of the month from November 2011 to June 2012.
Any queries can be directed to Student Services in the Multi Media Centre building.
2. Adult Learning Grant (ALG)
Students are entitled to ALG if:
- They are aged 19 or over
- They take a course which leads to a first full level 2 or first full Level 3 qualification

3. Learner Support Fund
Learner Support funds are available in college to help towards the costs of starting or following your course. These costs could include:
- Books and equipment
- Extras, like visits, field trips and placements
- Emergencies affecting your living or learning arrangements
- Transport, including fares to and from college
- Help with your living, learning or personal circumstances
Hardship application forms and eligibility criteria are available from the College during enrolment or from Student Services.
4. Childcare
Students may be eligible for support for childcare costs through the Care to Learn scheme.
Students are entitled to help if:
- They are under the age of 20 and have a young child
- Are studying at college
- Have an Ofsted registered child Carer
