HNC’s Year 12 A Level Psychology students recently experienced their potential next steps in action, enjoying a visit to Leeds Trinity University to take part in two special seminars which helped them to see what degree level study in their chosen subject entails and gain a flavour of life as a university student.
Students studying A Level Psychology can progress to a wide variety of next steps. In a recent visit to Leeds Trinity University, Year 12 A Level Psychology students discovered more about progressing to a degree in Psychology. On the day, the group met with current degree-level Psychology students to find out more about their experiences, as well as enjoying a tour of the University’s campus and facilities.
The group were also invited to take part in two seminars focusing on Health Psychology and Cognitive Psychology, building on knowledge developed in the classroom and deepening their understanding of these two key topics. On the day, students were also able to discover more about the UCAS application process and seek advice on the application process.
Tracey Holland, Teacher of A Level Psychology, shares more “A Level Psychology is an A Level that challenges students to think deeply about a wide range of theories and topics. During our recent visit to Leeds Trinity University, our Year 12 students enjoyed two university-level seminars that further challenged the group to explore health and cognition, supporting them to develop a deeper understanding of these key topics. It was also an excellent opportunity for our Year 12 students to start thinking about their progression plans, helping them to firm up their post-HNC vision. Thank you to Leeds Trinity University for an enlightening day!”
