Business is everywhere around us – regardless of the type of organisation you work for, the principles, knowledge and skills you develop are both valuable and transferable. A Level Business pairs well with a wide range of subjects too, making it an incredibly popular choice here at HNC.
This hands-on course will explore real life case studies and develop your skills in critical analysis as well as require you to assess key business decisions and behaviours. In addition, you’ll explore external factors that affect businesses, such as technology, competition and Brexit, and the impact they have on the day-to-day running of organisations.
You'll need to meet the entry criteria for your chosen pathway.

Educate, Enrich, Enlighten
We are proud of the unique experiences that are available to our students both inside and outside of the classroom. These will stretch and challenge you inside of the classroom. Our modern spacious classrooms provide a great place to learn.
Through exploration of real-life scenarios such as inflation and the cost of living crisis you’ll build your cultural capital and learn more about how the concepts you’re exploring in your studies translate to the world around us. Our Young Enterprise group for example created their own board game, and sold their product at the White Rose Shopping Centre.
You’ll broaden your horizons and skills and build your cultural capital. Some of the experiences our students enjoy include:
- Work placements, including to international destinations and the chance to work in overseas locations
- A chance to take part in the Young Enterprise challenge
- Connections with leading employers including PwC, with the potential to secure an internship
- The opportunity to put your skills and knowledge into action, including as a Business Ambassador hosting College events
This course is assessed via three examinations at the end of your studies.
A Level Business students progress on to a wide and exciting variety of higher education courses ranging from Law and Economics to Accountancy and Marketing. A number of students have successfully applied for degree level apprenticeships, or direct entry into the workplace in roles such as leisure and tourism and retail management.
