Are you interested in a practical course that explores all three scientific disciplines, and opens up a broad range of career opportunities? Then Applied Science is the course for you!
This three A Level equivalent course is a full time study programme. This full time course will see you studying content across the three core disciplines – Biology, Chemistry and Physics. This is a hands-on, interactive course which will see you learning through completing experiments, carrying out research and developing your academic knowledge through coursework.
You'll need to meet the entry criteria for your chosen pathway and a grade 4 in GCSE Maths and two grade 4s in GCSE Science or a pass in a vocational Level 2 Science qualification (equivalent to two or more GCSEs).

You will be taught by passionate subject specialists who will support your learning and development throughout your studies. Your learning won’t just be contained to the classroom either – from trips and visits to discover potential career paths and university lectures by inspiring academics, you’ll enjoy a truly well-rounded learning experience. Assessment is via presentations, group work and assignments and externally assessed exams.
Applied Science leads to an impressive and diverse range of career opportunities such as Biochemistry, Food Science, Pharmacy and Clinical Science, and Radiology. Some students also progress directly on to apprenticeships in the workplace, such as in a laboratory.
