Are you ready to step into the spotlight? Do you have ambitions to work in the Musical Theatre industry and want to hone your skills and become a versatile performer? This full time, 3 A Level equivalent course will help you to prepare for your future by focussing on your singing, acting, dance and performance skills. This course is highly practical, and progression focussed, allowing you to develop both your technical and professional skills and knowledge.

Educate, Enrich, Enlighten
Studying for a full-time applied qualification in Musical Theatre is an enriching experience. You will hone your skills in our state-of-the-art theatre. This unique space features industry standard lighting and sound, giving you the chance to experience life as a professional performer whilst at College.
Studying this subject at HNC is an immersive experience, and our experienced subject specialists will support and challenge you, honing your skills and ability as a performer. The College boasts a state of the art dedicated Theatre so our Musical Theatre students can hone their skills in a professional environment. You will have the opportunity to explore a range of roles such as actor, director and choreographer, allowing you to step outside your comfort zone, experience performance from varying viewpoints, and discover where your passion lies.
You’ll be encouraged to build on your performance skills outside of the classroom in a range of extra-curricular opportunities, from attending workshops to showcasing your talents in our end of year show. In past years our Musical Theatre students have:
- Attended theatre shows
- Taken part in guest performance workshops
- Staged an end of year showcase play
- Visited London
- Worked in industry standard studios and performance spaces
Assessment is via internal and external assessment and externally assessed examinations.
You will be prepared to progress to degree level study or industry. Many of our students move on to a future in Musical Theatre. Alumni include Lawrence Guntert who has performed in West Side Story, Rosie O’Hare who has performed in a range of musicals including Hairspray and The Sound of Music and Jed Hoyle, who has performed in The Book of Mormon.
The diverse nature of the Musical Theatre course means that you will complete your studies with a valuable set of skills including public speaking, teamwork and organisation that are transferable to a range of degree courses and job roles
