Today HNC would like to congratulate all of our students who are celebrating their A Level and BTEC results following two years of hard work and dedication to becoming their best selves inside and outside of the classroom.
As a diverse and inclusive College offering a wide range of Level 3 study programmes, we are proud to report that this commitment has seen a significant increase in the number of students securing A*-B and A*-C grades at A Level – in a year where record numbers of students have opted to take A Level qualifications.
At A Level, 41% of students secured A*- B and 70% celebrated A* – C grades, an increase of 10% across both from last year’s figures. There was a similar success story for our students undertaking BTECs with 69% securing a high grade (Distinction * or Distinction).
Pass rates in both qualifications were strong, with a 96% A Level pass rate and a 98% pass rate for BTEC. As a result, the majority of students opting to go to university were awarded their firm choice of university, with 660 students receiving confirmation from UCAS this morning that they can start preparing for life at their chosen university! Naturally, we also have many students whose results today also mark formal confirmation of their job and apprenticeship offers.
Marcus Smith-Connor, Principal comments: “While exam results are just part of the story for our young people, these qualifications are a key part of ensuring our students achieve their ambitions. HNC is committed to offering an inclusive Level 3 education, and our students join us with diverse prior academic achievements. However, our promise to students is that if they work hard, commit completely to the experience on offer and behave professionally, then they will achieve their full potential in their chosen study programme. Today’s results reflect how their hard work has paid off and marks an important milestone in the individual journey of each of our students to becoming their best selves.”
“As Principal, I would like to congratulate each and every student who is today getting ready to take their next step to university, work or an apprenticeship. In April 2025 all students will be invited to return to HNC to update us about life post HNC, and celebrate the fruits of this hard work with the staff who were part of their journey. Our young people are now progressing to some incredible and exciting destinations and we genuinely cannot wait for this event so we can hear more about this. If you are celebrating today, don’t forget to share your pictures with us by emailing news@huddnewcoll.ac.uk or tagging us @Huddnewcoll.”
