The Travel and Tourism courses on offer at HNC are a great option for those who want to progress to a career in travel or hospitality. Students have the choice of studying the subject at A Level, as part of a mixed programme, or they can opt to study the subject as an extended diploma full time. HNC students who study the subject are also given the opportunity to add additional qualifications to their CV through enrichment programmes, such as the NCFE Cabin Crew qualification.
As always, the Travel and Tourism teachers has been working hard to ensure that this year’s students are prepped and primed for their progression at the end of their courses, whether they’re going on to Higher Education or into the world of work after their time at college.
In December, three of our Travel students, Chelsea, Alexandra and Steph, found that they had successfully secured employment with Alfresco Holidays during Learning Conversations Week as Overseas Holiday Representatives, and they’ll be starting straight after college finishes in the summer of 2015.
Another Travel student, Rebecca, has also landed herself a job working as Cabin Crew for Jet 2, which will also commence in the summer of 2015 after she finishes college. Rebecca successfully completed the NCFE Air Cabin Crew course last year, which helped to prepare her for the Jet 2 online/telephone interview selection process. She finally secured the position in a face-to-face interview- beating a massive 3300 other applicants to the post!
Amanda Beirne, Travel and Tourism teacher, said “The Travel and Tourism department are very proud of all our students’ achievements in securing employment for the summer of 2015. We wish them all the best in their future careers”.
