Huddersfield New College’s Cricket Academy will represent Yorkshire and Humberside in the National Championship in April 2019 following a win at the Indoor 24 Regional Cricket Competition this week.

The team played against Barnsley College, New College Pontefract, Sheffield College and Scarborough College across four different games, winning the first game against Barnsley, losing against New College Pontefract but then beating Scarborough and Sheffield Colleges. This led to a points tie with Sheffield College and New College Pontefract which saw HNC take part in a bowl off, with four bowlers bowling a ball each and the most hits winning. Sam Barraclough hit the final wicket to make Huddersfield New College Regional Champions of 2018-19.

The Cricket Academy is one of HNC Sports Academies, and has a national reputation for its outstanding performances.
