Huddersfield New College is a hot-bed of talent; our experienced teaching staff are not only outstanding teachers, often they are industry leaders within their fields too!
Claire Murray, a teacher of Fine Art in the College’s Art and Design department, will be exhibiting her most recent paintings in a solo show at the David Wright Gallery, Artsmill, in Hebden Bridge. Claire, who has exhibited her creations in galleries across the UK and abroad, is a commercially successful artist who has had her work showcased in magazines and arts-based trade shows. In addition to Claire’s paintings, she is the creator of surface pattern designs for fabrics, wallpapers and bespoke handmade homewares, such as lampshades and cushions.
As a committed artist, Claire combines her part time teaching role with her passion for working within her field, and Claire’s expertise has inspired the College’s Fine Art students to explore a variety of creative techniques and discover the varied career options available to them once they have completed their A Level studies. The exhibition runs from January 23rd to February 10th and you can find out more here.
