Huddersfield New College has revealed that the Class of 2019 has secured record breaking results, topping last year’s best ever results.
In the year that HNC has been named the TES Sixth Form College of the Year, students have maintained the 100% pass rate for A Level and BTEC and increased the overall high-grade rate (A*-B or equivalent) to 69%, meaning more students than ever before have secured those much coveted top grades.
These exceptional results will ensure that our students can achieve their future ambitions. These include a hat trick of students celebrating confirmed offers for Medicine. Izzie, Farrah and Lucy have all achieved the top grades for this competitive degree course. Alfie is also celebrating an offer for Neuroscience at UCL (University College, London) and hundreds of other students are celebrating their first choice university offers this morning for a wide range of highly competitive degrees, or confirmation of their place on a Higher Level Degree Apprenticeship or their offer of permanent employment.
Angela Williams OBE comments: “I would like to congratulate our Class of 2019 on these truly exceptional results. This is a real testament to the hard work of both our students and our staff and confirms how the experience we offer students at HNC helps them to be successful and realise their ambitions, whatever these may be.”
“I’m very much looking forward to catching up with our Class of 2019 today, and sharing their excitement as they prepare for their next exciting steps after HNC. 2019 has been an incredible year for HNC: TES Sixth Form College of the Year, UK Organisation of the Year for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and our best ever A Level results ( in the year where ALL A Levels were the much harder Linear ones!). As Principal, I am very, very proud of our success this year, both collectively as a College community and individually for students such as Izzie, Farrah, Lucy and Alfie. I very much hope that our Class of 2019 have enjoyed their time with us, have treasured memories of this time, and will think of us fondly in the future and return on occasion to share with us their many adventures after HNC. But for today, I hope they celebrate their fantastic and richly deserved academic success.”
