Huddersfield New College student Aoife Schofield has been crowned this month’s HNC Reviews review competition winner after submitting some fantastic review pieces.
The Review Competition invites students to write a review of a book, film or TV show but with a catch, they must sum up their views in just 300 words. This month’s options were: Noughts & Crosses (book), Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (film) and Heartstopper (TV show), and Aoife chose to submit not one but two entries, writing reviews of both Doctor Strange and Heartstopper.
Elliot Thompson, HNC Literacy Champion and competition organiser said: “HNC Reviews is a great way for our students to express themselves and develop their creative writing skills. Aoife’s reviews well well-written and expressive and it was great that she took the time to write two at such a busy time in the College year. I hope that we continue to run the competition next year and that more students get involved and show off their creative talents.”
HNC Reviews is a monthly competition promoted on our social media channels and each month’s winner receives a gift card, a certificate recognising their achievement and has their work published online.
