One of my favourite things about College is its diverse and busy community – it genuinely feels like such an exciting place to be. There are so many opportunities that support you along your journey – I have been Head Student, which really helped my confidence and I was also part of the HEE Cambridge Outreach Programme that encouraged me to apply.

Your two years at HNC will sound like a long time – but it honestly will fly by. I’ve had so many amazing experiences. My teachers have encouraged me to challenge myself, believe in myself and enjoy my time here. I recommend taking up every opportunity that interests you – it genuinely is key to your future success!

HNC has opened my eyes to so many new ideas - you're really encouraged to think critically and engage with others in respectful debates on a wide range of topics. I especially enjoyed being a member of the College's XL Programme, where I learnt about lots of different topics far beyond my study programme. Everyone is so passionate here about supporting you to achieve.

College has helped me grow academically and personally. My time at HNC has taught me resilience, discipline and how it is important to work hard and persevere. I feel like I have a strong foundation for the future and confidence to continue to strive for success as I take on my next challenge of studying Medicine at University!

Life at HNC prepares you for the real world, whatever you're planning after College! You develop your professional skills as well as your subject knowledge, meaning you leave College as a well-rounded person ready for their next step. I have taken part in so many different experiences, from playing sport with my friends, to taking part in the ASDA Young Leaders, which was an amazing experience that allowed me to develop my understanding of how a business works.

Studying at HNC isn't just about achieving well in your subjects - one of the best things about HNC for me is how they prepare you for life outside of education. The Aspire Programme helps you to develop skills and knowledge that support you has you made your next steps, such as preparing you for how to live away from home and other useful tips for adult life.

I have enjoyed the journey that I have experienced at HNC, from meeting new people in class, learning new skills and knowledge in the classroom, and taking part in enrichments such as portfolio building, which helped me to secure a place at university on a creative course. I also really enjoyed the trip to Venice that I took as part of my A Level Textile Design course where I made memories to last a lifetime!

The teachers are supportive and have made my time at HNC much easier and my lessons very interesting! They are invested in providing a good quality of education, and are very approachable if you want help or extra information. My Progress Tutor has also been incredibly supportive in helping organise support and checking things are going well.

HNC is a great place to make new friends. Everybody genuinely enjoys it here and looks forward to coming. HNC builds your independence and encourages autonomy, and College life focusses on building and developing important skills for post-college life, as well as developing your subject knowledge in lessons.
