HNC Shuttle Service

HNC operates a dedicated shuttle bus service for students and HNC staff from Huddersfield Bus Station (stand H), and from HNC to Huddersfield Bus Station. This is a new service that will start from 1 September 2025. A number of services are available at peak times, with regular services also available throughout the day. This is priced at 50p per journey, this fare is payable upon boarding via card payment only. Membership badges must be shown in order to board, students who are unable to show their membership badge will be denied boarding. The timetables below demonstrate the service for September 2025. Please note spaces on these services are on a first come, first service basis and the College reserves the right to amend this timetable in light of demand. Any amendments to this service will be published on this page. Students who opt to use this service are expected to uphold our College values at all times, and reflect our ABC expectations in their behaviour and conduct.

FAQs

How much will it cost?
50p per journey, each way. This remains almost half the price of using public transport. All payments will be made via card (Apple Pay/ phone payments will also be accepted) on boarding.  
 
What happens if a student successfully applies for the travel element of bursary? 
Students awarded the travel element of bursary will be offered an M Card. However, students in receipt of travel bursary will also be provided with free use of the HNC shuttle in addition to being able to access a M Card. 
 
Will students be guaranteed a space on the shuttle bus?
Spaces on the HNC shuttle will be on a first come, first served basis. However, services are highly regular during peak times so if a bus is full another one will be along shortly. They will also run at a number of points throughout the day – meaning that an added benefit is that students will have greater flexibility with when they arrive and depart College. 
 
Will the HNC shuttle accept members of the public?
No, it will be solely dedicated for HNC students and staff and a membership badge will have to be shown in order to board.
