Late consideration 2026 entry

IMPORTANT NOTICE: applications cannot be considered where supporting information is missing. Please make sure therefore that you carefully review what information is required before submitting an application.

Our late consideration application process is for those who wish to be considered for a place at HNC for September 2026 but did not meet the equal consideration deadline of Friday 12 December 2025.

This may be for a wide range of reasons from career plans changing to not having applied during the College’s standard application window. Any student can apply for any reason during late consideration, but will be asked to share why they did not apply in the equal consideration window in their application.

It is important to note that our ability to accommodate late consideration requests are not guaranteed, and only applicants who applied by the equal consideration deadline of Friday 12 December are guaranteed to secure their first choice of courses at an Admissions Evening (offers remain subject to predicated grades and the ability to enrol is then determined by confirmed grades on GCSE grades). Late consideration applicants may also be required to attend an Admissions Evening outside of the advertised dates.

In all circumstances, late consideration applications will only be considered when all application fields are completed and the application is returned with the accompanying required information regarding predicted grades, behaviour and Year 10 and Year 11 attendance and punctuality.

Due to decisions being made on availability late consideration has a first come, first served approach – this is also different to our standard admissions process. It is therefore advisable if you know you wish to now be considered that your submit an application as soon as possible.  Deadlines for actions may also differ from those advertised in the standard admissions window, so applicants in this process are advised to regularly check emails and adhere to all deadlines given.

Information for students with an EHCP:
– We can only accept applications from students with an EHCP where the College has reviewed the EHCP and provided a response under the statutory consultation process
– Any student who applies and does not declare their EHCP and is offered a place will lose their place if an EHCP is then declared post enrolment and the College cannot support this. We therefore advise applicants to share as much information as possible so that we can provide appropriate advice and support

Further information about late consideration

  • There are no special circumstances in late consideration that will give one applicant priority over another. The Admissions Team will review the circumstances and supporting statement in full. Applicants are encouraged to be honest and transparent about the reasons for their late consideration request and to clearly express why they consider HNC to be the right environment for them
  • Completing the late consideration form remains subject to the College’s Admissions criteria and if there is any availability
  • Students who complete the late consideration process and who are unsuccessful will remain able to apply for entry the following year (subject to meeting funding and entry criteria) and will not be disadvantaged in any way
  • The College reserves the right to adjust the late consideration process at any time, including the closure date(s) if applications exceed any availability.
