Late consideration 2026 entry

IMPORTANT NOTICE: applications cannot be considered where supporting information is missing. Please make sure therefore that you carefully review what information is required before submitting an application.

The College closes for the summer break on Friday 10 July, therefore please note we are unable to provide outcomes or updates for applications that were not submitted by Friday 3 July. You are welcome to submit your application at any point, but please note that we will not be in touch before the enrolment period which commences on 20 August. If you are submitting your request on or after this date, you MUST include a copy of your final GCSE results.

It is important to note that our ability to accommodate late consideration requests are not guaranteed and are subject to availability. Late consideration operates in two phases:
– Phase 1: applications submitted from 3 July – 23 August will be responded to during the enrolment period
– Phase 2: applications will reopen from 26 August if there is any availability remaining

It is therefore advisable to apply as soon as possible, as the College reserves the right to close late application early if the College has no spaces remaining.

Information for students with an EHCP:
– We can only accept applications from students with an EHCP where the College has reviewed the EHCP and provided a response under the statutory consultation process
– Any student who applies and does not declare their EHCP and is offered a place will lose their place if an EHCP is then declared post enrolment and the College cannot support this. We therefore advise applicants to share as much information as possible so that we can provide appropriate advice and support

Further information about late consideration

  • There are no special circumstances in late consideration that will give one applicant priority over another. The Admissions Team will review the circumstances and supporting statement in full. Applicants are encouraged to be honest and transparent about the reasons for their late consideration request and to clearly express why they consider HNC to be the right environment for them
  • Completing the late consideration form remains subject to the College’s Admissions criteria and if there is any availability
  • Applicants will be contacted via telephone during the enrolment period. Applicants who do not respond to deadlines set in emails or voicemails will have their application automatically withdrawn
  • Students who complete the late consideration process and who are unsuccessful will remain able to apply for entry the following year (subject to meeting funding and entry criteria) and will not be disadvantaged in any way
  • The College reserves the right to adjust the late consideration process at any time, including the closure date(s) if applications exceed any availability.
