Late consideration 2025 entry
The late consideration process is for applicants who would like to apply for a place at HNC for September 2025 but who have either not applied by the published application deadline or who did not accept their place and now would like to be reconsidered. Please note the following important information:
Late applications will be dealt with in two phases:
- Phase 1: late consideration will close at 12 midday on Tuesday 26 August, or earlier if the College becomes full. Early applications are therefore advised.
- Phase 2: should there remain any availability remaining after phase 1 applications have been processed, late consideration will reopen on Thursday 28 August, and remain open for a maximum of two weeks or until the College is full (whichever comes first)
In all cases, places are not guaranteed, and it is important to remember that not all courses will have spaces. We therefore strongly recommend that all applicants have alternative provision in place.
Further information about late consideration
- Late consideration applicants will not have their application reviewed until standard enrolment is completed and availability is known. Late consideration applicants can be expected to be contacted no later than Friday 29 August, this will be earlier if enrolment concludes ahead of this date. The College reserves the right to process applications earlier than this date, if there is availability on an applicant’s chosen combination of courses e.g. because another applicant withdraws their acceptance. Where this is the case, direct contact will be made with the applicant
- Applicants remain free to decline any offer that the College may make. However, they will need to provide an immediate response to any offer (if given). Due to the timescales involved, places cannot be reserved while an applicant considers the offer that they have been made
- HNC’s Admissions Team will contact applicants to whom a place may be offered via the mobile number provided on the late consideration form. If an applicant does not respond to the offer of a place by the deadline left in the voicemail, the offer will be withdrawn and offered to another applicant
- There are no special circumstances in late consideration that will give one applicant priority over another. The Admissions Team will review the circumstances and supporting statement in full. Applicants are encouraged to be honest and transparent about the reasons for their late consideration request and to clearly express why they consider HNC to be the right environment for them
- The Admissions Team will only contact applicants who we can consider discussing a late enrolment with and cannot discuss why an application has been unsuccessful. If we do not have availability of an applicant’s potential study programme, this will mean that their application will not progress
- Late consideration applicants will not be allowed a later start and will need to be prepared to join the published Induction Day (Monday 1 September), or the next day of College (whichever is first) to minimise lost learning. This is a condition of any offer that the College may be able to make
- Completing the late consideration form remains subject to the College’s Admissions criteria and if there is any availability. Please be aware that if we cannot proceed with the application, there is no right of appeal to this decision in any circumstance
- Students who complete the late consideration process and who are unsuccessful will remain able to apply for entry the following year (subject to meeting funding and entry criteria) and will not be disadvantaged in any way
- The College reserves the right to adjust the late consideration process at any time, including the closure date(s) if applications exceed any availability.
