Today is A Level and BTEC Results Day, and a day where our Class of 2025 are celebrating how their two years of hard work has paid off, and opened the door to their dream job, apprenticeship or university place.
We are immensely proud of the determination, dedication and resilience our students have shown during their journey, with our Class of 2025 securing 1097 A* – B grades (or equivalent), an A Level pass rate of 96.5% and an Applied General pass rate of 99.6% – making HNC above the national achievement rate for all courses.
As a result, today many of our young people are celebrating that they will be moving on to their chosen university. Naturally, today also marks a milestone for the many students who are also receiving formal confirmation of apprenticeship and job offers – as a College community we are looking forward to hearing how their careers and higher education studies are progressing at our upcoming celebratory afternoon tea.
We are also pleased to share that HNC is 5.9% above the national average for A Level student retention, meaning that more students complete their A Level studies at HNC. Attendance is also significantly above the Sixth Form College’s Association national average.
Principal Marcus Smith-Connor comments: “Today marks a celebration of how our students have become their best selves while at HNC. They have attended well, committed completely and behaved professionally to ensure that they reach their full potential. Many of our students are today celebrating high grades which is of course an exceptional achievement. We also have many students who have worked incredibly hard to secure grades that are far higher than those predicted when they joined HNC. All of our students are today enjoying the feeling of seeing their hard work paying off, and the satisfaction of securing the qualifications they need to take the next step in their journey. Students love to learn at HNC, and we are delighted this is reflected in our retention and attendance figures, as excellent attendance is of course key to ensuring students achieve the very best possible grades. ”
“Over the coming weeks we will be sharing more about the successes and individual stories of our Class of 2025. We are really proud of the life-changing opportunities they have secured, and how the work they have put into their studies and HNC experience has seen them gain the grades they genuinely deserve. We hope that each and every HNC student enjoys marking their well deserved successes today, and we look forward to welcoming them back to HNC and hearing more about their how their journey is progressing at our celebratory afternoon tea.”
