UK Parliament Week 24 – 30 November

24 – 30 November is UK Parliament Week.

There will be a number of events taking place across the week, and it’s a great way to find out more about democracy, and how by engaging in Politics, we can shape a better future for all.

On Wednesday (26/11), our A Level Politics students will be hosting a stand in the Junction – students can pop down to chat with them and vote for the College’s Charity of the Year. We’ll also be joined by representatives from Kirklees Council who are keen to hear from young people – they’ll be asking students to complete the ‘Living in Kirklees’ 2025 survey – a brilliant way to share views about local issues.

Thursday (27/11), we will be hosting a ‘Question Time’ style event with representatives from the main parties. There are a limited number of spaces available and this is a bookable event. Students can see the link in Teams to book a space.

On Friday (28/11), we will be joined by our local MP, Paul Davies, who will be hosting his first ever Youth Surgery here at HNC. This is a non party political event that invites students to come along and talk to an MP about the issues and topics that matter, and share more about what they think needs to be done. Limited slots remain, and HNC students can book via the link in Teams.
