FROM THE KITCHEN TABLE TO WORLDWIDE BUSINESS SUCCESS: HNC STUDENTS HEAR FROM TAJINDER BANWAIT MBE ABOUT THE POWER OF HARD WORK & RESILIENCE

As we enter the month of March, HNC students will not only celebrate International Women’s Day, but will also be welcoming a range of inspirational guest speakers during National Careers Week, all of whom will be sharing their personal career journey and top tips for success.

We are delighted to reveal that as part of a dual celebration on 12 March students will have the opportunity to hear from Tajinder Banwait MBE, founder of Urban Apothecary and Palette London. This luxury brand started from her kitchen table, and now sells online direct to consumers and major retailers across the world.

Our students will be hearing more about how long days, hard work and resilience were key to the creation of this incredibly successful brand, and how she continues to navigate the company through both challenges and opportunities.

While our Business students will predominately be joining this very special, spaces are available for students across all subjects (who are not in timetabled lessons) to join the special session and be inspired.

Amanda Beirne, Teacher of Business comments: “Tajinder’s story is an incredibly inspiring one, with a product that started on a kitchen table and now retails across the world. However, her journey was not as a result of luck, and our students will be able to hear how initiative, resilience and hard work were all key to success, along with a determination to think outside the box and see challenge and setbacks as an opportunity for growth. She genuinely is an ‘example of what can be achieved if you set your mind to it!’  We are really excited to hear directly from Tajinder about her journey, and for our young people to hear her advice about turning a passion into a reality, while being courageous and resilient when hitting life’s stumbling blocks.”

Students who wish to request a place (10.30am 12 March) can contact Amanda Beirne via Teams. Please note students must ensure they are not in a timetabled lesson
