FUTURE MEDICS EXPLORE THEIR NEXT STEPS WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF BRADFORD

A Level Biology students have recently taken part in a special taster day with the University of Bradford, exploring a wide range of medical and allied health degrees as they plan for their next steps after College.

Students studying A Level Biology explore a wide range of biological concepts, and the qualification can lead to a variety of careers, often medically related. At a recent taster day with the University of Bradford, the College’s A Level Biology students recently enjoyed learning more about the different medical and allied health courses the University offers, and taking part in workshops designed to give a flavour of the different routes available post-18.

As well as discovering more about the different degree routes available, students also enjoyed a special workshop for those who are hoping to progress to a degree in Medicine, which looked at the application process and advice for future medics on how to apply successfully – from top tips on taking the UCAT to the importance of work experience.

Emma Reeves, Head of Faculty (Science and Maths) comments “Many of our A Level Biologists aspire to progress to a medically related role, whether that’s aiming for a space on a much-coveted Medicine degree programme, or progressing to a closely related role in areas such as nursing, physiotherapy, or midwifery. This was a hugely beneficial day for our Biologists, who were able to clearly understand the wide-variety of routes and careers open to them, allowing them to start making informed decisions about their next steps after HNC. Thank you to the University of Bradford for a genuinely informative day”.

Have you applied for a space on A Level Biology at HNC for 2026 entry? Join us at our upcoming Bookable Lesson Taster evening to find out why studying the subject at HNC is such an enriching and enlightening experience. Further details will be shared soon.
