HNC STUDENTS INVITED TO PLAY THEIR PART IN SHAPING A BETTER FUTURE AS A YOUNG LEADER

HNC has revealed that applications are now open for two fantastic leadership opportunities with students invited to put themselves forward for either a Head Student or Student Governor role.

These are two distinct opportunities, but will both see successful applicants taking on a leadership role and representing their peers. All Year 12 students are encouraged to take a look at the application packs on Teams to learn more about the following roles:

Head Student positions (number of positions available, including Deputy Head Student)
Successful candidates for these positions will listen to the views and issues of peers to discuss and share these with senior leadership at College, to improve the day to day to student experience. Students in these positions also act as Ambassadors for HNC, speaking at and running special events

Student Governor position (1 position available)
The Student Governor position is an important strategic role, working with HNC’s Corporation (Governing Body) to be part of the major decisions that shape HNC. This may be of particular interest to those interested in learning more about how high level decisions are made, and who wish to benefit from working with people who have diverse professions and interests but share a passion for the power of education to improve lives.

Catherine Cushnie, Assistant Principal: “Student Voice is hugely important to HNC at both a strategic and day to day level. We want every student to enjoy the best possible experience that enables them to become their best selves. These exciting leadership positions are a way our current students can share their perspective and shape what we do as a College, and our previous student leaders have been able to leave their mark in a wide range of areas from the catering on offer and the senior staff we recruit to our vision, mission and values. Of course, it is also a brilliant opportunity to develop skills and knowledge outside of the classroom, and operate in a professional environment. We would like to thank our outgoing Head Student team and Student Governor for their contributions, and we look forward to meeting applicants at interview.”

All information regarding the application process can be found in the Year 12 teams channel. Applications close on Friday 17 April. Please also take a look at the video below with HNC’s current Student Governor Saadain.
