LAUNCHING FUTURE CAREERS AT HNC
05.11.2026HNC is delighted to announce the official launch of a brand-new and exciting strand to the College’s already comprehensive enrichment offer: the Futures programme!
At HNC, our promise to students is that they become their best selves, and we help our students to realise this through our curriculum intent to educate, enrich and enlighten. Enrichment forms a key part in supporting our students to develop their skills and confidence beyond their study programme, and the College has offered over 100 different enrichments to students for a number of years, from big ticket commitments such as undertaking the DofE Gold Award and playing for one of the College’s Academy teams, to enjoying short courses in areas such as ceramics or British Sign Language. This year, the College is formally launching a brand-new enrichment element – the Futures programme – which will focus on supporting students to access their dream careers.
Delivered by our subject experts, our Futures programme is linked to the subjects students study, and includes diverse areas from Health and Education, Social Sciences and the Creative and Digital Arts. Each offers a unique package of opportunities, activities, guest lectures, experiences and trips designed to provide students with the competitive edge in their chosen careers, supporting them to become ‘career ready’ and progress to their next steps with confidence, whether that’s university, an apprenticeship or the world of work.
We’ll be sharing more about our Futures programme over the coming term. Maria Dean, Assistant Principal for Curriculum and Personal Development, comments “We are thrilled to announce this exciting new strand to HNC’s enrichment offer for 2026. At HNC, we know that providing our students with the opportunities to thrive goes far beyond the classroom, and our enrichment offer is a key way in which we enrich our students and provide them with the competitive edge, whatever their progression plans may be. The Futures programme will see students build their knowledge, skills and confidence through a comprehensive package of high value experiences – from meeting with industry experts to developing a portfolio – that will support their applications post-HNC and allow them to become their best selves. We can’t wait to share more about this exciting new opportunity at HNC in the coming months”.
