PLANNING FOR A CREATIVE FUTURE WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF HUDDERSFIELD

HNC’s A Level 3D Design and Fine Art students recently spent the day at the University of Huddersfield, exploring what a degree in a creative subject could look like post-HNC.

HNC offers a broad range of creative subjects designed to support students to progress to a variety of careers. In a recent visit to the University of Huddersfield, Year 12 A Level 3D Design and Fine Art explored the university’s creative course offer, taking part in workshops in the purpose-built Barbara Hepworth building.

After joining a welcome talk, students took part in three degree-level workshops, choosing from Photography, Interior Design, Graphic Design and Architecture, allowing students to gain a genuine insight into what each different course offers and what a future studying the subject could look like. On the day, there was also an opportunity to speak with current students and explore the university campus.

Sarah Anderson, Teacher of Art at HNC comments “Taking a creative course at HNC can open up a huge number of opportunities. A recent visit to the University of Huddersfield, who offer a large number of creative courses, has provided an insight into the many different subjects and pathways available to our creative students once they have completed their studies with us. Choosing the right course is an important part of progression planning, and this was a brilliant day for our students who were able to directly compare which courses may be right for their next steps. Thank you to the university for providing such an engaging day”.
