WELCOME TO OUR NEW STUDENT LEADERSHIP TEAM
19.05.2026We are delighted to reveal that our new Head Students, Deputy Head Students, Student Experience Officer and Student Council have been appointed following a formal interview process. Our student leaders are integral to student voice at HNC, representing their peers to develop the student experience on offer. The team are also responsible for hosting a series of student led events and experiences.
Being part of student leadership at HNC is a great opportunity for students to develop their professional skills in areas such as teamwork, organisation, public speaking and networking. Our previous student leaders have contributed to enhancing the HNC experience in a wide range of areas from the enrichment on offer and bursary to hosting a charity Halloween fundraiser and arranging for student access to microwaves in the Junction.
These are prestigious positions, which involve a job style application process and interview where applicants are asked questions. Following this, we are delighted to announce our new team has been appointed as listed below.
Catherine Cushnie, Assistant Principal comments: “Once again we were blown away by the passion, dedication and wonderful ideas our student leader applicants brought to their interviews. We have appointed an incredibly strong team and it was a tough decision for the panel to choose who would be appointed to the Head Student and Deputy Head Student roles. Every applicant should be proud of the standard of applications and their interviews. We are of course looking forward to working with the new team to develop the HNC student experience further, and build on the work of our outgoing team. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our current Student Council for their hard work, and the difference they have made.”
