ACADEMY HEAD COACH SCORES ROLE AT BRADFORD CITY AFC

HNC is delighted to reveal that Women’s Football Academy Head Coach, Emily Senior, has been appointed as Bradford City AFC’s Women’s First Team Manager following a rigorous selection process.

Emily, who is a qualified teacher, studied her post-16 qualifications at HNC. A key player in the Women’s Football team when she was a student, Emily came back to HNC as Head Coach for the College’s Women’s Football Academy and has been successfully heading the team for the past six years. Under Emily’s leadership, the Women’s Football team has gone from strength to strength – reaching the finals in the AoC Sports Nationals and the ECFA’s National Elite play-offs in the 2021-22 season. As well coaching here at HNC, Emily also runs a successful coaching business, 5 Sport Coaching, at a specially designed multi-purpose venue, delivering a range of Physical Education programmes across West Yorkshire and embedding a life-long love of being active within our community.

As well as recently being appointed as the First Team Manager at Bradford City AFC, Emily has also been selected as one of nine national Football Association (FA) Coaching Mentors – a role that sees Emily coaching and mentoring at St George’s Park, the FA’s national football centre and home of the England Teams. Her work as an FA Coaching Mentor sees Emily work at the very highest levels of elite football, as well as offering her support to ‘grass-root’ teams.

Jamie Marsden, Head of Faculty Sports Academies, comments “Since her time at HNC as a student and Academy player, Emily has shown great promise – from her work ethic to her sporting achievements! Emily’s role in the Women’s Football Academy as Head Coach has been integral to the team’s success, and her mentorship of our female players has seen them go from strength to strength. I am incredibly proud that Emily has recently been appointed into her new position at Bradford City AFC and as one of a select few FA Coaching Mentors. Emily genuinely inspires our young sportsmen and women, both here at HNC and in the wider community, to follow their dreams and achieve sporting success. I know that she will be a huge asset to Bradford City. We are incredibly lucky to have Emily as our Head Coach and we look forward to another successful season for the Women’s Academy under Emily’s expert eye”.
