You will need to meet the entry criteria for your chosen Pathway and achieve a grade 4 in GCSE Maths. Core Maths is strongly recommended for students taking A Level Environmental Science, A Level Psychology and A Level Economics.

This qualification is particularly useful to students who are studying subjects such as Business, Economics, Geography, the Sciences and Social Sciences, which all require you to have a solid understanding of a range
of Mathematical principles. Your topics will include:

Who should study core maths?
If you are considering a career in STEM or the social sciences, and do not wish to take A Level Mathematics, it is a really good idea to supplement your knowledge with a qualification in Core Maths. The practical knowledge you will gain on this course will underpin a wide range of careers and will ensure that you are ready for future study and the world of work.
