You’ll need to meet the entry criteria for your chosen Pathway.

This is a full time course and therefore suited to those who are keen to pursue a career within the industry. In this 3 A Level equivalent course, you will explore the subject of Information Technology extensively, and will finish your time at HNC with a comprehensive knowledge of IT systems and how they impact our lives. This useful course will see you explore a range of topics, including:

• IT systems, including management of these and their uses in personal and professional situations

• Website development in HTML, CSS and JS

• Personal and business finance

• Recruitment and selection

• Creating systems to manage information

• Using social media in business, and how technology can support business success

• IT project management

• Cyber security and incident management

• Programming

• Designing, developing and testing software

• 2D and 3D graphics

• IT service delivery

• Games development

• Software testing

• The internet

• Data modelling, including how it can be used to solve problems. You’ll put your skills to the test by designing and implementing a data model based on a brief

How will you be assessed?

Assessment is via presentations, group work and assignments and externally assessed exams.

Please note, this course is an Extended Diploma. This means it is a full time study programme and therefore is not available to study alongside any other subject. If you would like to study Applied Information Technology as part of a wider study programme, this course is also available as:

• A Certificate (1 A Level equivalent)
• A Diploma (2 A Level equivalent)
